An Accident Prevention Program (APP) is the cornerstone of every workplace safety program. One that is prepared thoroughly and updated frequently requires collaboration from management and employees.
Three key things to remember about your APP are:
- Created and available at each work location
- Inclusive of all hazards and current
- Accessible and location is known to all employees
Don’t forget about this: The Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) requires all businesses to have a safety plan (APP) in place specific to each of their locations. It is also one of the first items a L&I inspector will ask to see and is one of the most cited items during these inspections.
