Labor & Industries executive to serve on national committee

The U.S. Department of Labor has selected Anne Soiza, Assistant Director of L&I’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health, to serve on a related national advisory committee.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services appointed Soiza to chair the committee for a two-year term. She joins 11 others named to the committee.

The committee’s work is important to Retail Services’ core function of reviewing workers’ compensation claims. Occupational diseases are generally defined as chronic ailments that occur or can be aggravated due to the nature of a kind of work. Our claims analysts request that Labor & Industries recognize all similar work history. The goal is to minimize the liability paid by the current employer. It is possible to share a percentage of the claim’s expenses with multiple employers.
