L&I issues updated COVID-19 safety directives on May 15

Labor & Industries’ Division of Occupational Safety and Health has issued detailed updated directives on safety workplace precautions for businesses operating during the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

The directive provides enforcement policy when evaluating workplace implementation of social distancing, facial coverings and respiratory protection, sanitation and sick employee practices required under Governor Jay Inslee’s Stay Home Stay Healthy Order.

The Order, in effect through May 31, requires people to stay home except where the Governor has authorized regional or industry specific permission to restart operation or operate businesses deemed to be essential such as groceries, pharmacies and gasoline stations.
