University of Washington and Washington Retail Association Partner on Ergonomic App

Washington Retail Association is excited to announce that we will be partnering with the University of Washington on a special project. The University of Washington has received a grant from Labor & Industries to develop a smartphone and tablet App. The task at hand is to help reduce ergonomic risks on the job by adopting safer postures or adjusting the sequence of the repetitive nature of tasks.

Our focus for our member’s is on safety and preventing work place injuries. How employees go about their every-day tasks will be of great importance in the study.

We will ask our members to volunteer to test and use these products in early 2020. The University of Washington will then collect the data and determine the effectiveness of the application.

This could be a game changer in business as the affect would be less injuries and lowered workers’ compensation costs.
